Pest Control

We have areas of woodland under our control which we use for conservation having ponds & nesting boxes for various species.

Unfortunately we also have a considerable number of grey squirrels which attack the boxes to get at the eggs and young so whilst we are carrying out roost shooting in February to reduce the pigeons we also reduce the squirrel numbers.

We also suffer from foxes which again are dealt with.  You can see the results on one of the swans.  In 2017/18 we have shot 13.

We also control corvids, rats, mink etc.  2019 we had mallard and pheasants nesting and all have been predated and eaten.

We participate in the Local Mink Control project and have found a recent increase in numbers.  Mink Project
